Boardalign Wakeboard & Surf Camp was established in 2005 and is run from Umtamvuna River Lodge in Port Edward, KZN South Coast. Both wakeboarding and wakeskating instruction is offered to all ages and skill levels. We pride ourselves on being one of the most flexible and affordable wakeboard camps / schools both locally and internationally. Boardalign offers Pro riders, not only from South Africa but also abroad, epic year round riding conditions and top class equipment as well as great working holiday opportunities as coaches at the school.
Our aim at Boardalign is to make wakeboarding accessible to the public hence growing the sport. We break the mould of the traditional contest scene by hosting events, so that the general public may experience the wakeboarding and surfing lifestyle as apposed to merely watching a few impressive tricks. We try to get the crowd, aspiring as well as amateur riders, more involved and broaden brand awareness of all affiliated companies and organizations. Our events are designed to attract and appeal to the tastemakers that take an active role in setting the style, hottest trends and overall ingenuity within the wakeboarding & surfing community.
Owner and coach, Kevin Dry, believes in the importance of not only being personally involved in coaching the riders but also offering the expertise of other professionals in the industry. Kevin has been riding since 1996; he competed internationally on the US Pro Tour between 1998 and 2001 and the European Pro Tour from 2000 until 2003. He has been representing the South African Wakeboard Team for over a decade and also plays a large part in the coaching of both the South African and the Irish team riders. Kevin has shared his knowledge of wakeboarding all over the world, coaching throughout the United States, Europe and Australia before establishing the school where all his coaching is now based from. Boardalign has understandably gained a reputation of being the home of SA Wakeboarding.
Umtamvuna River Lodge has set the scene for not only international wakeboarding films like PUSH PROCESS, an Oakley production filmed here early in 2007, featuring Andrew Adkinson, Aron Rathy and Danny Hanson to name but a few. Boardalign continuously features on local television, both Supersport and Vuzu, showcasing international riders, events and contests as well as up and coming local talent.

Nestled at the foot of a mountain in the heart of the nature reserve and built on the banks of a river, Umtamvuna is the lodge of leisure.
With its sub tropical gardens, abundant bird life and its close proximity to the sound of water it has an unhurried tranquillity.
Emphasis is on rest and relaxation yet the more energetic person can get involved in the large number of sporting activities on offer in the area, such as wakeboarding, boating, surfing, diving, fishing, nature hikes, golf, deep sea fishing, whale watching and gorge swings!
Accommodation at the lodge consists of eight cosy en-suite double rooms. All with private balconies and a view of the river. Continental buffet and cooked breakfast is included. Dinners and lunches are available from our restaurant throughout your stay; we have a large dining area outside on the deck which is absolutely stunning.
